Will the real Ohio please stand up?

I’m over this “Ohio” crap. Despite what you think, Ohio will NOT be playing Ann Arbor this Saturday. Ohio plays tonight. In Athens, Ohio. Against Miami (Ohio). And at the risk of confusing you even more, Ohio will not be the team in red.
“Ohio” is no more Ohio State than Michigan is Michigan State. It’s not insulting to Ohio State players or fans… they already think they’re the only school in Ohio. So…way to feed into their already enormous egos! You just sound silly and ignorant.
As a proud Ohio University alumna, I don’t want anyone to ever confuse my wonderful alma mater with Ohio State. Try to remember that eons ago you played for Ball State, a Mid-American Conference team that played Ohio. Not Ohio State. I’m sure you didn’t confuse the two teams back then and — newsflash! — they’re still two different teams.
If you are desperate to avoid using The Ohio State University, may I offer you some potential alternatives that in no way indicate you don’t know which team you’re playing this week? How about tOSU? Tattoo U? An Ohio State University? Or, how about the Suckeyes? And, if you’re in a child-free zone, you could even use the slightly more vulgar “fuckeyes.” There are so many choices…and none of them confuse Ohio State with Ohio University. I’m here to help!
In all seriousness…Ohio State is not Ohio…despite what you think, what the team’s jerseys say, and what the marching band can spell. Please stop.
