Aw, Peeps!

awpoops:

theatlantic:

If you are the child of a middle class family in California, it is probably cheaper for you to attend college at Harvard than at a nearby public university.

You read correctly. Cheaper.

Didn’t California used to have really, really cheap in-state tuition not that long ago, like pre-Schwarzenegger? Speaking of, what a bad idea he was, huh?

I mean, the thing is it might be cheaper to go to Harvard IF YOU CAN GET INTO HARVARD. People are maybe ignoring the accessibility issue here. Of which cost is only a part. Buy me a beer if you want to hear more about the whole history of public institutions in the U.S. Because I’m pretty sure most of you don’t.
